We’re building a membership platform for the restaurant industry. Businesses get a simple way to connect with their customers and users get membership benefits & rewards in all of their favorite restaurants, bars, cafes, and nightclubs. Our app is the most popular membership app in Finland and we are expanding to Europe in 2024.
We're looking for an exceptional leader to be our Head of Engineering and a key player in our leadership team. You will be leading the Engineering team which now consists of 4 senior software developers. Our current tech stack consists of dockerized cloud-based Python-backend (PostgreSQL, Redis, etc) and React & React Native based web and mobile applications.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation plus a track record of structuring healthy organizations that encourage effective collaboration. You’ll influence technical decision making, drive prioritization and execution, while managing outstanding engineers in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time role that is ideally based in Europe. Our company is based in Helsinki, Finland, but we work fully remotely.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage and support a team of software engineers and leading the day-to-day activities
- Provide both technical and organizational leadership
- Ensure the optimal application of engineering resources in order to meet the needs of the business
- Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
- Leading role in the recruiting activities of the engineering department
Essentials skills and expertise
- +5 years of working experience
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical engineering teams
- Ability to dive deep into deeply technical areas as well as provide organizational direction and guidance
- In general an autonomous person with high levels of initiative and energy
Preferred experience
- Hands-on experience in a startup, scaleup or SaaS environment
